Academic objectives
  • The PhD in Management Sciences has the following structure:

    Taught Period: Year 1
    -Coursework: Master of Research in Management Sciences (MRes)

    Research Period: Year 2
    - Optional courses in the Master of Research in Management Sciences programme.
    - Preparation of a thesis and final formulation of a research proposal.
    - Tutoring, assessment, and monitoring of the results.
    - Research Seminar and Cross-cutting Courses.

    Research Period: Year 3
    - Thesis preparation
    - Tutoring, assessment, and monitoring of results.
    - Research Seminar and Cross-cutting Courses.

    Research Period: Year 4
    - Thesis preparation
    - Official authorisation to present the doctoral thesis.
    - Defence of the doctoral thesis.
    - Research Seminar and Cross-cutting Courses.

    Research Seminars:
    - A set of research seminars oriented towards advanced research in specific fields.
    - Monitoring and interaction sessions in which students are assigned to research groups, research chairs, or research institutes.

    Cross-cutting Courses:
    - Seminar on writing up and publishing results in scholarly journals.
    - Seminar on communication techniques for teaching and research.
    - Possibility of taking Spanish for Foreigners courses in the Executive Language Centre.
