- New organisational models. From the value chain to the value network.
Traditionally, technological management has been associated with information systems departments. However, value creation associated with information technologies affects the whole organisation, and not only the value chains but also the value networks. On the one hand, every executive should have their own criteria regarding the possibilities presented by modern technologies. And on the other hand, establishing dialogue and negotiation between an organisations functional areas and information systems is becoming increasingly frequent. For these reasons, this course is addressed to people who are prepared to become involved in a highly participative learning experience and who are interested in developing executive capacities such as leadership, negotiating skills, organisational capacities and economic know-how, own capacities and/or the capacities of others.
- Understanding which managerial capacities are necessary to obtain and generate value in reference to information technologies
- Understanding the various uses of information technologies, from their application to productivity to organisational innovation
- Reflecting on various models of technological management
- Team and project leadership. Understanding the risks associated with technological projects
- Reflecting on dialogue and negotiation between the systems departments and the rest of the organisation
- Understanding the types of relationship that could exist between executives and the CIO
The learning model is based on participative classes, case discussions and lectures delivered by experts and executives. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their vision of information technology and their contribution as executives and make an initial diagnosis of their managerial competences. Based on this, they will then draw up and put into practice a competence development plan to obtain and generate value from the implantation and use of information technologies. The proposed learning model has a strong experiential component and is based on participants’ willingness to take part.
